Australian officials used a respite on Monday from fierce wildfires that have killed 24 people across the country's southeast to race to reopen blocked roads and evacuate people who have been trapped for days.
The inferno had millions of animals burnt to death and destroyed several properties 24 people dead, 8,000 koalas dead, 500M animals dead, more than 1400 homes destroyed, also 5.5 million hectares burned, more than 10 million people in toxic level of bushfire smoke.
